All Hallows' Eve...On a Budget

Halloween!

I may be too old for Trick-or-Treating, but I will never grow too old for dressing up! It is just too much fun. The only downside is that the only costumes for adults are either ridiculously expensive OR slutty. Neither of those fit me.

I have discovered though, making my own costume can keep me comfortable in my own skin and a few extra bills in my pocket. I know what you are thinking: "That is WAY too much work."  But with the internet - problem solved. Anyone can put together something awesome.

One of the first websites I was checking out was pinterest.com. If you love to waste time on the internet, find a friend to invite you to this website and you will love it! I know I do. This website led me to another website I LOVE. Etsy.com where it showed an example of a bunch of masks you could purchase. They were precious! So I thought, I could do that, and so can you! All you need is some different color felt and basic sewing skills and you have a quick mask. Or if you just want to purchase one, that is fine too. Then all you need a cute outfit for you or your kids to match. My idea was to make a black owl mask, wear a cute black tea length formal dress and... tada! A costume.

For a little girl you might just need a dress and anything that matched the colors of the mask. Easy Peasy.

While I searched on further I found this simple but awesome website and it led me to even more unique costume ideas. Even if I couldn't make the costume it showed, I at least got some cute ideas of simple things I could purchase or pull together to make something cute. My favorites were the roadsign links. Just think about all of the options of street signs you could choose from - so many ideas.

If you want some really awesome ideas like I got you should go here. Yep, that link will lead you to the most-creative-woman-ever's website. Martha Stewart. Now I am not a super Martha follower but let me tell you, she has some ingenius ideas. Like the super heroes! You can make up your own with a few basic items. Probably stuff you already have. You can always choose a decade and borrow clothes from older family members(or even the back of your own closet. But if you want to get more creative, man can she take you there! She just has the cutest ideas.

I hope this helps! I always get stuck on what to be...I am not creative without research.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
