Want to Run for Public Office? Filing Opens July 15

The filing period to run for Greer City Council or as a Commissioner for Public Works opens July 15.

Interested in being a member of Greer City Council? Want to serve as a Commissioner for Public Works? 

The filing period opens at noon July 15 for those individuals planning to seek seats on council for Districts 2, 4, and 6.

For those considering running for council, all candidates must reside in one of the three districts and run to represent that district only. Council members serve a four-year term.

One Commissioner of Public Works position also will be on the ballot in November. If elected as a commissioner, the person will serve a six-year term.

To file, candidates must submit the necessary paperwork to Municipal Clerk Tammy Duncan at Greer City Hall from 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Filing will remain open until Aug. 15.
