The Olympic gold medalist drew laughter, applause and tears at a fundraiser for Taylors Free Medical Clinic.

Hundreds gathered at the T.D. Convention Center in Greenville to hear an Olympic Gold medalist tell his life story and to give his testimony. Looking around the ballroom, there wasn't a single person whose eyes were not focused on Scott Hamilton. The world-renowned skater has many titles in life: Network TV skating commentator, actor, performer, producer, Emmy Award nominee, best-selling author, role model, humanitarian, philanthropist, son, brother, husband, father, Cancer and brain tumor survivor, and Christian. Hamilton also could add storyteller to that growing list, as he gave people at a fundraiser for Taylors Free Medical Clinic a glimpse into his life's ups and downs. Olympic Gold Medalist Scott Hamilton to Speak at Fundraiser

Taylors Free Medical Clinic still has a few seats available

Olympic Gold Medalist Scott Hamilton will be in town Tuesday to help raise money for the Taylors Free Medical Clinic. Hamilton, a world-renowned figure skater, responded very quickly to the clinic's invitation to speak at an annual spring gala, Health Healing Hope to be held at 6:30 p.m. at the T.D. Convention Center. "We wrote to people to tell them about the Taylors Free Medical Clinic and to ask for a speaker," said Karen Salerno, executive director of the clinic said. "He wrote back very quickly and accepted our invitation." Taylors Free Medical Clinic is a faith-based agency that provides free medical services for low income families who are uninsured. Clients of the clinic can't have services provided to them by medicaid or medicare…
