Gamecocks' Roth Up For SEC Honor
Greer native has been nominated for a post-graduate scholarship.
Greer native and star Gamecock baseball player Michael Roth has been nominated for the H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Post-Graduate Scholarship. Besides being the University of South Carolina's ace pitcher and a two-time national champion, Roth is also about to graduate with a degree in international business and marketing, and also spent his spare time visiting children at various elementary schools and hospitals, as well as helping to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Post-Graduate Scholarship has been presented by the Southeastern Conference since 1986 to the league’s top male and female scholar-athletes.
