Dozens of classic cars filled the parking lot at Dickey's BBQ Pit in Taylors.

Dickey's BBQ hosted a Cruise-In on Saturday night to help support those in need. Proceeds from the event went to the Greer Soup Kitchen.  Check out Patch.com's photo coverage of the event. 

Memorial Day Weekend Sales Abound

More and more people are spending this particular holiday weekend to go shopping.

Whether you like furniture, lingerie or just cheap food, Memorial Day Weekend is quickly becoming a mainstay of deal-seakers and shopoholics.  Many national brands boast annual Memorial Day sales that last through Monday.  Among some brands that are putting on holiday sales this weekend are:  - Old Navy (with locations on Woodruff Road and Cherrydale Point in Greenville), has  sale that includes $4 t-shirts and tank tops that lasts through Monday.  - Feeling sexy? Victoria Secret (the closest location at Haywood Mall in Greenville) has a sale where you can buy 7 pairs of underwear for only $26.  - Nearly everyone grills during this holiday weekend. Memorial Day Weekend Events Coming To The Upstate

From Seneca to Mauldin, the Upstate will have plenty of things going on this weekend.

Whether you're into bicycle races or music, the Upstate will have plenty of options for you this Memorial Day weekend.  If you're a cycling fan, you can check out the USA Cycling Championships. At 11:30 a.m. Saturday, time trials begin at CU-ICAR. On Memorial Day (Monday), the Road Race Championship, a 115-mile race that winds from downtown Greenville, through the Furman University area and down through Taylors before returning to Greenville, will begin at noon. The race is free to attend.  If music is more your speed, perhaps you could trek over to Oconee County. Seneca Fest will feature bluegrass music beginning at 11 a.m. at Norton-Thompson Park in Seneca, and the featured musical act Little River Band will finish things up at 8 p.m.  …
