Tips for keeping man's best friend safe and relaxed during the fireworks.

While fireworks are beautiful to humans, they can be very frightening for your four-legged friends. So before things go boom in the night, make sure you have a plan to keep your pet safe and secure. Jenny Landreth, a veterinary assistant at Oasis Animal Hospital, said there are a few things pet owners can do to keep their pets safe and calm during fireworks. "Most pets like being in their own area," Landreth said. "A kennel covered in a dark sheet will make them feel more secure." Landreth also suggested turning on a radio or television in the room to help drown out the noise. Landreth said that there are also supplements that can be given to dogs to help them stay calm.
