Women Robbed at Gunpoint Outside Greer Store

Armed robbers held two at gunpoint, robbed them at Greer Dollar General.

Spartanburg County deputies are searching for an armed robber who held two female employees at gunpoint and robbed them outside the Greer Dollar General store, according to this Fox Carolina report. A sheriff's office spokesman said the robber accosted the women outside the store as they were leaving to make a bank deposit Monday morning. He then ordered them back inside the store at gunpoint, made them clean out the safe and also stole their deposit bags. The robber was reported wearing a dark coat over a white hoodie and jeans. Armed Robbers Hit Area Jewelry Store

GCSO looking for two suspects who robbed Paradise Jewelers on Woodruff Road.

Armed robbers made off with an unspecified amount of loot Wednesday morning from Paradise Jewelers, with the store's owner firing shots at the suspects as they sped off in a gray vehicle, the Greenville County Sheriff's Office said. At 11:22 am this morning the GCSO received a call from the store, located at 1616 Woodruff Road, regarding an armed robbery that had just occurred.  Investigators at the scene determined that two black males entered the store wearing hooded sweatshirts with their faces covered.  At least one of the suspects was armed with a firearm, the GCSO said.   Once inside the store the store employees and customers were ordered to the ground. Man Sentenced To 12 Years For 2011 Robbery

Edward Lorenzo David pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to 2011 cab driver robbery.

A man who allegedly robbed a cab driver in 2011 pleaded guilty to multiple charges this week and was sentenced to 12 years in prison.  Judge Lawton McIntosh sentenced Edward Lorenzo David to 20 years, suspended upon the service of 12, followed by five years probation.  Assistant Solicitor Allen Fretwell prosecuted the case for the state. Davis admitted to approaching a cab driver in the early morning hours of July 20, 2011 as the driver had stopped at an ATM on Poinsett Highway in Greenville. David pointed a handgun at the cab driver and demanded "everything" from the victim, who gave him a few dollars. Davis was later located by police at the Cherrydale Shopping Center nearby.  The victim positively identified Davis as the man who robbed …

Taylors Man Gets Life Sentence for 2010 Crime

A Taylors man has been convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment for his part in a 2010 home invasion in Greenville, 13th Circuit Solicitor Walter Wilkins said Friday. Christopher Eric Russell, 41, of 202 Bane Road, was convicted of first-degree burglary, armed robbery, kidnapping, and conspiracy. Following his conviction on Wednesday, Judge R. Lawton McIntosh sentenced Russell to life without parole. Russell, along with an accomplice, broke into a house on Caroline Drive in Greenville on Dec. 18, 2010, armed with pistols. Once inside, they overpowered and tied up 56-year-old Jeffrey Lyles, and his wif Elaine, holding him for more than 30 minutes while threatening them and demanding money. Investigators Looking For Craigslist Crooks

Couple robbed after setting up meeting via Craigslist.

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in solving an armed robbery that was set up via the web site Craigslist.  At about 1 p.m. Tuesday, a couple from North Carolina drove to the Olive Garden at 3290 North Pleasantburg Drive in Greenville after meeting a seller on Craigslist supposedly willing to sell an iPhone 5.  After the couple got out of their vehicle to complete the sale, the purported seller took out a gun and demanded the couple's cash and belongings. A separate armed suspect also brandished a weapon and assisted in the robbery. Sheriff's Office Investigating Armed Robbery

Suspects wearing ski masks robbed the Dollar General in Marietta on Monday night.

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office is trying to locate two unidentified men who robbed a Dollar General store in Marietta on Monday.  At roughly 10 p.m., two men robbed the employees of the Dollar General at 2708 Geer Highway.  It is unknown if the suspects were already in the store when the store was closing, or if they arrived at the store just prior to the robbery.  The incident report states that as the employees were closing the store, the suspects approached them inside the store, pointing handguns at them.  The suspects were able to get away with an undisclosed amount of cash from the store, as well as each of the victim’s cellular telephones.  After the robbery, the employees were forced into the back office and the suspects …

GCSO Looks for Sex-Store Armed Robber

Suspect robbed the Pandora's Box erotic novelty store on Dec. 9. Do you recognize him?

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in identifying an armed man who robbed a local sex store last week. On December 9, just after midnight, an individual forced his way through a side window of Pandora’s Box, located at 1445 Poinsett Highway. Employees were still inside the store completing their shift when the suspect burst in. The subject then confronted the employees, whipped out a handgun, and ordered the employees to lie on the ground.  The subject then stole an undisclosed amount of money, the employee’s cell phones, and undisclosed "adult novelty items." The subject was captured on the store's security camera during the incident. The subject has been described as being possibly 25 years old or younger…

Business Employee Shoots, Kills Man During Robbery Attempt

A suspect in an attempted armed robbery was shot and killed on Poinsett Highway.

An employee at a local automotive business shot and killed a man as he tried to rob the location. Laura Campbell, spokesperson for the Greenville County Sheriff's Office, said that at 3 p.m. Thursday, deputies were dispatched to Precision Automotive at 1112 Poinsett Highway in reference to an armed robbery. Two men reportedly entered the business, with at least one of them armed. An employee at Precision Automotive, was able to grab a gun himself and fire at the men. One of them was hit, and died at the scene. The second suspect was apprehended at the incident location by Greenville County Sheriff’s Office deputies who responded to the scene, and has since been arrested for the offense.  Arrest warrants for that suspect are in the process …

Armed Robbery Reported On North Pleasantburg

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery at a check cashing business.

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office is investigating a reported armed robbery that occurred Monday at a Taylors-Wade Hampton area business.  At roughly 11:30 a.m. Monday, an unidentified white male walked into the Check Into Cash at 1164 North Pleasantburg Drive and demanded money from the clerk at gunpoint, Laura Campbell, spokesperson for the GCSO said.  The man took cash and fled the scene. No one was injured in the robbery.  "Armed robbery investigators are gathering specific suspect information and details for release so that public assistance may be requested in identifying the suspect," Campbell said.

Sheriff's Office Investigating Alleged Armed Robbery

A male victim alleges he was robbed at gunpoint in a Wal-Mart parking lot.

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office took a report Wednesday night of an armed robbery that had allegedly occurred several hours before being reported to the authorities.  Jonathan Smith, public information officer for the GCSO, said that a male victim, upon finishing his shopping at the Wal-Mart at 3027 Wade Hampton Boulevard in Taylors, parked his car to the upper left corner of the parking lot there. The victim said he heard someone beside him, and saw an unidentified black male with a gun pointed at his face. The suspect told deputies that the man stole money from his back pockets and fled on foot.  Smith said the victim did not report the incident to law enforcement until roughly three hours later.
