Greenville County Schools said that two buses in the Blue Ridge area were delayed because of rocks being thrown at the buses.
Two of Greenville County Schools' buses were delayed Friday after the drivers reported objects hitting the buses. The incidents happened Friday afternoon in the Blue Ridge area. The school district said that one bus driver thought her bus may have been shot at by someone in a passing vehicle, after her windshield was shattered. The district said that 14 students from Blue Ridge High and Blue Ridge Middle were on that bus. No one was injured. A second driver then reported something thrown at her bus in the same area. The district contacted the Greenville County Sheriff's Office for assistance. The wreck happened just after 10 p.m. at the intersection of Haywood Road and Howell Circle.
Updated: 10:22 am., May 18, 2013 The South Carolina Highway Patrol has released the details from a fatal collision that happened around 10 p.m. Friday on Haywood Road, near Howell Circle. Troopers said the driver of a 2004 Toyota 4-Runner was traveling north on Haywood Road when they ran off the right side of the road striking several trees. The driver was not wearing a seat belt. GCSO deputies said they found evidence of a meth lab in a Greer home.
A Greer man faces felony drug charges after Greenville County Sheriff's deputies said they found evidence of a meth lab at his Cogin Drive residence, a report said. On Wednesday, GCSO Vice and Narcotics investigators responded to 944 Cogin Drive in reference to information regarding a meth lab that had been obtained from a lawful traffic stop, Master Deputy Jonathan Smith said. Investigators were able to obtain a search warrant for the property and said they found items throughout the property that are used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine, Smith said. Arrested were Shannon D. Colley, 40, of 944 Cogin Drive, and Willis Anthony Davidson, Jr., 53, of 950 Cogin Drive. Colley was charged with manufacture and distribution of …

Greenville deputies have arrested a Greer man who shot up a car and threatened his wife on Mother's Day. On Sunday, Greenville County Sheriff's Office was called to 50-year-old Gregory Gardziola's home in Greer about a domestic dispute after the 911 caller said he threatened to shoot his wife. When deputies arrived, they found a car in the driveway riddled with bullets, according to information from the Sheriff's Office. Deputies then saw a teen at get out of the home just before Gardziola shut the door. The SWAT team was called to the home, but deputies said Gardziola surrendered without incident. Annual memorial service reminds community of those who served and protected Greenville and gave their lives doing so.
Greenville County honored the lives of fallen officers during an annual memorial service at the at the Greenville County Law Enforcement Center. It's been 14 years since Marcus Whitfield, a Greenville County deputy, was killed in the line of duty on Aug. 13, 1999. Whitfield was shot and killed while he and two other deputies were attempting to break up a fight outside of a Waffle House. Melita and Mike Whitfield of Lyman said to them it seems like yesterday. "When you hear of another officer being shot or killed, it just brings it all back," Melita Whitfield said. "With God's help, we've come through it. A Wellford police officer has been charged with allegedly abusing a vulnerable adult. Bennie Brandon Hand, 32, has been charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct — Third Degree, Abuse of a Vulnerable Adult and Misconduct in Office. According to warrants signed by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Hand allegedly engaged in sexual battery of a vulnerable adult between July 1, 2012 and Jan. 1, 2013, with a woman that he knew that had a mental disorder. Hand did so while serving as an officer for the City of Wellford. Each offense is a felony in South Carolina. If convicted, Hand could face a 10 years in prison on the criminal sexual conduct charge, up to five years on the charge of abuse and up to 10 years for misconduct in office. SLED…

A Campobello man has been arrested and charged with peeping. Deputies said that 25-year-old David Castruita of Campobello is charged with one count of Peeping Tom, Eavesdropping or Peeping, after he allegedly looked over the wall into a room at a local tanning salon. According to the incident report, the victim said that she had disrobed and was attempting to get into a tanning bed at Ultra Tan in Boiling Spring. The woman said that when she looked up, she saw Castruita watching her. She immediately started to get dressed and told the salon employees to call police. Castruita fled from the scene but told people on the way out that he wasn't looking at the woman. His wife later called the salon to tell them that her husband had not done …
