Riverside High School to Induct First Hall of Fame Class

Riverside High School will be making history Friday night before and during its game against Eastside.

The school will induct the first athletic Hall of Fame class in its 40-year history on August 30.

The inaugural class will be inducted at The Reservation during halftime of the Warriors' season opener against Eastside.

The inaugural class includes 13 male athletes: Chip Hughes (swimming), Jon Kirskey (football/track), Brandon Bennett (football/track/basketball), Treymane Stephens (football/track/basketball), Stephen Bright (football/basketball/baseball), Phillip Hargrove (cross country/track), Charlie Rasheed (tennis), Bill Haas (golf), Shaun Golden (basketball/football), Milt Blakley (basketball), Brad Chalk (baseball), Michael Pao (soccer) and Brian Ettari (wrestling).

The 10 female athletes to be inducted are: Haley Lips (swimming), Jamie Perry Temple (volleyball), Vickie Echeverria Schandevel (cross country/track/basketball), Courtney Zalinski (tennis), Haley Stephens (golf), Jennifer Cox Motroni (basketball/volleyball), Megan Matthews Buning (softball), Mary Esther Gourdin (track), Gretchen Anderson Lentz (soccer/basketball/cross country) and Ashely Morgan (cheerleading).

The class also includes coaches Susan Eggleston (softball/girls golf), Willie Wooden (cross country/track), William Hosea (boys soccer) and Louie Golden (basketball/AD).

All of the inductees will be honored at a dinner before the game at 5:30 p.m. in the Riverside cafeteria. The public is welcome to attend the dinner. Tickets for the dinner are $8.

Tickets to the game are $6.
