Here are the latest announcements from the Greenville Rec, headquartered in Taylors.

Hockey Clinic 

The Pavilion and the GreaterGreenville Hockey Association will be hosting more Try Hockey For Free Clinics throughout the season. The next event is Saturday, December 15th, from 11:30am-12:45pm and is for kids ages 4-10. Pre-registration is required. For more information, click here.

This is a great opportunity to try youth hockey with no commitment.  Please forward this email to anyone you know who may be interested in having their child try hockey.

Soccer

Registration is open now through December 28th for the winter men's 7v7 and coed 7-on-7 leagues. Games will be played on Sunday afternoons beginning January  6th at Pittman Park. The team registration fee is $250 per team for both the Men's 7's and COED 7's for a 6-game season. Are you an individual player looking for a team? Curling

The Palmetto Curling Club meets on Tuesday nights at the Pavilion from 7:30 - 10:00 p.m.  They welcome all skill levels and are always looking for more players.  Come on out and give it a try!   For more information and to sign up, please visitwww.palmettocurlingclub.com.

 

Volleyball

Open Gym NightJanuary 10th at 7:00 pm  Come check out the facility and learn more about the league!  Individuals and teams are welcome!  No charge!  League Information  We are looking forward to another exciting season of indoor volleyball at the Pavilion.  The Winter Season will consist of a minimum of 15 matches plus playoffs.  The League begins on January 24th and will run through March.  There will be two levels offered: A (Advanced/Intermediate) and B (Beginner/Intermediate).  All matches will be played inside the Pavilion Indoor Arena.  All players must be 16 years old and up.  There are two registration options available:Team ($450) and Individual ($80).

Indoor Soccer

The Greenville County RecreationDistrict is looking forward to another exciting season of indoor soccer at the Pavilion. The winter session will consist of 8 weeks plus playoffs. There will be three leagues this winter:

  • Co-Ed (Mondays) FULL
  • Co-Ed (Tuesdays)
  • Men's (Wednesdays)

All games will be played inside the Indoor Arena, which is a great way to keep warm, play an exciting sport, and get some great exercise this winter. There will be a Captain's meeting at the Pavilion on January 2nd at 7:00pm. Registration is open through December 30th. Registration is available at www.sportability.com/Pavilion.  There is a maximum of 10 teams per league.

Lacross

Greenville Rec will be offering Spring Youth Lacrosse for Boys and Girls ages 6 to 14 years old. This program is offered by the GreenvilleGladiators Youth Lacrosse Program. Skating

The Learn to Skate Program is ramping up for the winter season. Professional instructors teach classes for children and adults with simple and easy to learn moves from the US Figure Skating Basic Skills Program. Classes are on Mondays. A Home School Class is also offered on Thursdays. This program is recognized by USFS as one of the finest available, and is a great way to learn how to skate in the safest possible way. 
 
The Learn to Ice Skate Program now offers a USFS accredited hockey specific class, geared toward young hockey players who are new to the ice and the sport of hockey. Learning introductory skating skills is an important step in a player's progress into the Junior Tigers program. Come check it out!

Registration will remain open until the program begins January 7th.
