5K Saturday to Benefit Greer Relief & Resources Agency

5K is also in honor of Greer Commission of Public Works' centennial.

A 5K run Saturday aims to raise money for Greer Relief & Resources Agency.

The Greer Commission of Public Works Centennial 5K is a new event for the Greer area. The 5K event is designed to encourage newbies to the sport of running. Everyone is encouraged to participate and walkers are welcome.

The 5K is also in celebration of the Greer Commission of Public Works' 100-year anniversary.

Organizers hope the 5K will also encourage area residents to have healthy lifestyles.

The event begins 8am Saturday, August 24 at the Greer CPW, located at 301 McCall Street.

Online registration closes today, August 22, but you can register the day of the run. The cost is $27.37. All proceeds will benefit Greer Relief & Resources Agency

Packet pick up and late registration will be at Greer CPW Administrative and Operations Complex (301 McCall Street) on August 23, 2013 from 12pm to 7:00 pm.  Race-day packet pick up will be from 6:30 am until 7:45 am.

After the race, celebrate your accomplishment with some great barbecue. The Sooie't Relief BBQ Benefit continues Saturday. Proceeds from this event will also benefit Greer Relief & Resources Agency.
