Taylors Elementary Aiming At Free Books Through Program

Taylors' PTA in "Sunny D Spree" to get free books for the classroom.

The Taylors Elementary School PTA is hoping to get students and parents involved in a program that could result in the school receiving free books.

The "Sunny D Spree" is a program in which parents send the proof-of-purchase UPC labels from Sunny D drinks with their children to class for all bottles 6.75 ounces or larger. For every 20 labels received, Sunny D will send Taylors Elementary School 20 books.

As a bonus, the first 500 teachers in the country nationwide who send in 20 labels by Sept. 30 will get 40 books.

Parents choosing to send in Sunny D labels with their kids are asked to put them in a Ziploc bag with the child's teacher's name on it. Eight, 12 and 16 ounce cans are not eligible.

Last year the school received 60 free books. The school is aiming to double that amount this year.
