Tax Increase: Greenville School Board Approves 5-Mill

If you pay property taxes in Greenville County, you'll see a 12 percent increase in your tax bill for your home, car or business. 

A 5-mill increase was approved by the Greenville County School Board Tuesday for technology upgrades, school security enhancement and facilities improvements.

It’s the first tax increase in the district’s debt millage since 1999, according to GreenvilleOnline.

The measure passed  8-3 vote, according to GreenvilleOnline, with Crystal Ball O’Connor, Lisa Wells and Lynda Leventis-Wells voting against it. Glenda Morrison-Fair was absent from the meeting, the story said.
