School Bulletin: Greer High School

Here are the latest announcements from Greer High.

- Homecoming week is Oct 8-12. The Homecoming parade is Oct. 11 at 4 p.m. in downtown Greer. Senior class representative are: Faith Estrada, Shelby Garrett, Chelsea Jones, Megan Richardson and Makayla Rox. Junior representatives are: Kayla Gemme, Tykeyra Jenkins-Dodd and Caroline Neely. Sophomore representatives are: Bailey Coker, Taylor Ross and Julia Sudduth. Freshman representatives are: Kelsi Davis, Tara Hawkins and Samantha Perez.

- All sophomores will take the PSAT on Wednesday, Oct. 17.

 - Juniors interested in taking the SAT should sign up in guidance by Oct. 12. Cost is $14.

 - A pancake breakfast hosted by the Knights of Columbus will be held at Fatz Cafe in Greer on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for those under 12 years old. Tickets will be sold in the commons area of the high school during all lunch periods. Contact Becky Barnettrsbarnett@greenville.k12.sc.us to purchase your advance tickets. Proceeds go to benefit Greer High Special Olympics as they raise money to purchase uniforms. 

- College Day at Greer High will be Oct 31. Seniors who want to attend will need to sign up in the Guidance office by Oct. 17. Participants will receive help applying for college, meet college representatives, and have two transcripts sent to the colleges of their choice for free. Goodie bags will be given to all participants and there will be random drawings for door prizes. College representatives will also set up in the commons area during lunch to provide information for all interested students.

- The sophomore class is selling Chic-fil-a biscuits on Friday from 8 a.m. to 8:40 a.m.

- The boys and girls swim team placed 3rd in the Peach Blossom Region Championship Meet Thursday at the Westside Aquatic Center. Four team records were broken. Almost every swimmer had personal best times. 

New Team Records:
1. Boys 200 Medley Relay with Daniel Harvey, Zach Horton, Lucas McKown and Will Moody - their time was a state meet consideration time 
2. Boys 200 Free - Brent Waters 
3. Boys 500 Free - Brent Waters
4. Boys 200 Free Relay with Daniel Harvey, Matt Gwinn, Darious Newman and Zach Horton - their time was an automatic state meet qualifying time
