Computer technology students at Greenville Technical College will benefit from the gift of an enterprise class server from IBM.  The new IBM server is valued at $7,251 and will be used in the various computer technology labs on the Barton Campus.

Beau Sanders, Greenville Tech’s Computer Technology department head, said, “The constantly changing technology used in the marketplace makes it necessary to provide the latest in hands-on experience to our students.  Gifts like this from a leading-edge company like IBM help Greenville Technical College succeed at providing that necessary experience.”

IBM Distinguished Engineer, Jerry Denman, said, “In order for the world of commerce to be smart, the technicians supporting commerce need to be adept with the latest technology.  We are quite happy to provide this technology to a higher education leader like Greenville Technical College, which constantly succeeds in preparing quality graduates for tomorrow’s workforce.  We are quite happy to build on a great partnership that has lasted nearly two decades. “
