Voter ID Law to be Discussed Thursday Night at Furman

Furman College Democrats, Furman NAACP, and the Greenville County Democratic Party present: "Voter Protection or Voter Suppression? Understanding SC's Voter ID Law."

From 7-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, Furman College Democrats, Furman NAACP, and the Greenville County Democratic Party will start the discussion with five-person panel at Younts Conference Center on the campus of Furman University.

The panel will discuss, "Voter Protection or Voter Suppression? Understanding SC's Voter ID Law."

Panelists include: Brett Bursey, president of the S.C. Progressive Network; Victoria Middleton, president of S.C. ACLU; Demar Roberts, Southeast representative on the NAACP National Board of Directors; Conway Belangia, director of Voter Registration & Elections for Greenville County; and Allan Jenkins, state board member for the S.C. Democratic Party.

This event is open to the community. If audience participation generates enough discussion, the panel may continue until 8:30 p.m.
