Video: SCGOP Expects All Challengers to Take Part in Spartanburg Debate

Some 2,000 tickets will be available for the Wofford College event.

SCGOP Chairman Chad Connelly officially announced Wednesday that state's Republican Party will hold a presidential debate at Wofford College next month.

The debate, which will be held at the Benjamin Johnson Arena on Wofford's campus on Nov. 12, will begin at 8 p.m., and will be moderated by CBS News Anchor Scott Pelley and Major Garrett of the National Journal.

Connelly said Wednesday that he anticipated all of the Republican candidates would participate, though he gave no indication as to whether or not he'd recieved official confirmation from any of them.

A Rick Perry spokesman told CNN on Wednesdsay that the Texas governor may skip some debates.

Connelly said he "can't imagine" any challengers would miss out on the opportunity to take part in the first network television debate, which will be held in the state that has correctly predicted through its own primary the future GOP nominee for the last 30 years.

Ticket information can be found at www.SCGOP.com/debate. Some 2,000 are expected to be made available, Connelly said.

Other debates are planned for January in Myrtle Beach and Charleston.
