Congressional Candidate Sumerel to Sign Public Promise
If elected as the 4th Congressional District representative, Jeff Sumerel promises to accept no financial contributions, express no opinion, hold one-term, and implement a secure online voting system
A Fourth Congressional District candidate plans to sign a public document Saturday to keep his campaign promises.
Jeff Sumerel will sign a Promise Of Just Representation at 11 a.m. Saturday near the Vietnam Memorial in Cleveland Park.

In a release, Sumeral said the public signing s a gesture to hold true the principles of his campaign.
Sumerel is the only U.S. candidate in history to accept no financial contributions, express no opinion, hold only one-term, and with plans to implement a secure online voting system. The voting system will allow constituents of the 4th District to directly submit their vote on every act of congress – with the majority determining how Sumerel would vote.

Democrat Deb Morrow and incumbent Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC4) are also vying for the seat.
