Artur Davis to Speak at GOP Fundraiser in Greer

Davis, a former Alabama congressman, seconded President Barack Obama for the Democratic nomination in 2008. He has since changed sides and joined the Republican Party.

A former congressman, and also a former Democrat, is headed to the Upstate to help raise money for the Republican Party.

Artur Davis, who recently switched parties, endorsed Mitt Romney and spoke at the Republican National Convention in August in Tampa will be in Greer Oct. 11.

Davis, who seconded President Barack Obama’s nomination four years ago at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, will speak at a fundraiser for the South Carolina Republican Party’s Victory 2012 campaign at 6 p.m. at Thornblade Country Club in Greer.

Tickets are $75 per person, $125 per couple.

Davis will speak Oct. 12 in Florence and Myrtle Beach.
