Walmart Recovers 11 Cases of Shoplifted Beer

A man who tried to stop an alleged shoplifter was struck by the suspect's vehicle as they fled the scene.

Greer police said that on June 20, a black male with a beard ran out of Walmart at 14055 E. Wade Hampton Blvd. with a buggy containing 16 24-pack cases of Bud Light without paying for them.

Two employees of the store tried to stop the man as he was trying to load the beer into a dark green van with multiple occupants. One of the store's employees was able to grab the shopping cart from the man. One of the occupants from the van tried to punch the store employee in the face. The driver of the van then drove the van into the man striking him in the side. He was not injured.

The store was able to recover 11 cases of beer.
