Troopers Investigating Fatal Crash Involving Pedestrian

It happened Tuesday morning in the Pebble Creek area.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving a pedesterian in the Pebble Creek area.

The collision occurred about 7:02 a.m. at Pebble Creek Drive and Stallings Road.

The roadway is open, but Highway Patrol is investigating. By 8:30 a.m., personnel with EMS, Piedmont Park Fire and Rescue and Highway Patrol were clearing the scene.

Lance Cpl. Bill Rhyne of the South Carolina Highway Patrol said that a Honda minivan being driven by 58-year-old Deborah Pruden struck a female who was walking east in the westbound lane of the roadway. 

WYFF reports that the Greenville County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 29-year-old Shannon Suzanne Hudson. Hudson was reportedly in a vehicle with a friend when the vehicle ran out of gas. Hudson was struck as she was walking to her mother's house in Taylors.

Rhyne said the victim was struck in the roadway. No charges were filed in the collision.
