UPDATED: Coroner Identifies Pedestrian Killed in Crash Near Greer
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at Locust Hill Road near Fairview Road around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Update: The pedestrian killed on Highway 290 just north of Greer on Wednesday night has been identified by Greenville County deputy coroner Jeff Fowler as Danny Coxie, 47, of Taylors.
Coxie died from blunt force trauma, Fowler said.

Original story: The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian.
Troopers said the wreck happened around 9:25 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 290 just north of Greer. A pedestrian was struck as he was traveling east on Highway 290. The 47-year-old man died at the scene.

The crash is under investigation, troopers said.
