Reaves to run for Greeville County Sheriff

Dexter Reeves, a Democrat for Greer, is expected to announce his candidacy for the position Saturday.

Dexter Reaves, a former deputy at the Greenville County Sheriff's Office and current assistant athletic director for Southside High School, will announce his candidacy for sheriff Saturday. 

Reaves also ran against current sheriff Steve Loftis in 2008, but was defeated soundly by a 67-to-32-percent margin. 

Reaves' educational background includes a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice from Benedict College, with a double minor in political science and history.
