Murder Trial Goes To Jury

The fate of Korey Love is now in the hands of 12 men and women.

After taking in three days of evidence and testimony, the jury in the Korey Love murder trial are now responsible for deciding the fate of the 23-year-old Taylors man accused of shooting a fast food employee in 2007, The Greenville News reports.

Marvelin “Isaac” Bass was shot in the neck and killed in 2007 after a robbery attempt just outside the Wendy's on North Pleasantburg Drive, where he worked. His death remained a cold case for three years before Love, 17 at the time of the crime, and his step-brother Eric Ransom were both arrested in connection with the crime.

Ransom will be sentenced when the Love trial is over. Love took the stand in his own defense Wednesday during the trial, saying witnesses who said they saw him at the restaurant on the night of the murder were mistaken.
