Man Killed In Domestic Dispute, Girlfriend Arrested

A 47-year-old man was stabbed during a domestic dispute at a home north of Berea.

A woman is behind bars for criminal domestic charges while prosecutors weigh whether or not to charge her in the death of her boyfriend. 

At roughly 6 p.m. Thursday, the Greenville County Sheriff's Office received a call in reference to an assault in progress at 861 Rutledge Lake Road, north of Berea. 

When deputies arrived at the home, they found 51-year-old Tammy Lee Simpson and her boyfriend, later identified as 47-year-old Daniel Allen Lee, both with visible injuries.

The Greenville County Coroner's Office confirmed that Lee later died at the hospital from a stab wound to his stomach area. 

As the result of the initial investigation deputies determined that Simpson should be arrested and charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.

Simpson was subsequently arrested and transported to the Greenville County Detention Center where she is currently being held on a $15,000 bond. 

The 13th Circuit Solicitor's Office will determine if additional charges will be filed against Simpson.
