Greer Police Blotter: Koi-napping, Stolen Chicken, Cheech & Chong

Selected calls to the Greer Police Department from June 14-20.

The following information was obtained from recent Greer police reports.

June 14
  • Hit and Run: A man reported his vehicle was sideswiped as it was legally parked in the driveway of a Pennsylvania Avenue home. According to the incident report, someone drove in to the driveway hit the car and left the scene.
  • $5,000 in Koi Fish Taken: Greer police responded to Fox Run Circle after the owner of the home said that 25 Koi fish and at least 10 water lilies were missing from a pond in the home's back yard. According to the incident report, the fish are said to be valued at $200 each.
  • Cheech and Chong Case: Police arrested a man and woman outside Waffle House at 1133 W. Wade Hampton Blvd., after finding the pair using drugs in the restaurant's parking lot. According to the officer's report, an employee called police after noticing the car had been parked at the store for three hours and the occupants had not gotten out of the car. The report said that when the officer approached the driver's side door, he observed Brandon Picklesimer shooting up. The officer asked Picklesimer to step out of the vehicle, along with a female passenger, Nicole Waid. Upon search of two purses in the vehicle, officers found syringes, empty pill containers, a prescription bottle and a black Cheech and Chong metal container that contained a greenish leafy substance. Also located in the Cheech and Chong case was a digital scale. Pickelsimer was charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance, and a summons for possession of drug paraphernalia. Waid was charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance, possession of a schedule III controlled substance, a courtesy summons for simple possession of marijuana. Waid remains in the Greenville County Detention Center.

June 15
  • Pot Left in the Potty: Police were called to Lil Cricket at 100 Middleton Way to help usher a man in the restroom out of the store, so that the clerk could close. Ten minutes after the police asked Michael McCall to leave, he returned the store. According to the incident report, McCall told the clerk he left something in the bathroom. The clerk refused to let the man enter and according to the report, he told her to keep "his marijuana." McCall left the scene in a gold Jeep Cherokee. Police located the same vehicle at Kangaroo at 901 W. Wade Hampton Blvd. When police confronted McCall about the marijuana he stated that it was his. Police then asked to search the vehicle. The driver, Stephanie Fain, asked to remove her purse from the vehicle. The officer saw two needles and a spoon. When officers asked if she had anything illegal in her purse she said she had a bowl to smoke marijuana. The officer said during the search of Fain's purse, he saw her place an amount of money into her bra. She later began adjusting her bra during the search of the vehicle. A female officer was called to search Fain's person. She was found to be in possession of five small red ziploc bags, two of which contained a green leafy material; a small pill bottle with a variety of narcotics. She was placed under arrest for possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of schedule II narcotics, possession of schedule IV narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mcall was charged with simple possession.
  • Stolen Bucket of Chicken: A Greer woman was charged with shoplifting after she attempted to walk out of Walmart without paying for a bucket of chicken. The chicken was valued at $17.23.
June 16
  • Purse Stolen: A woman shopping at Walmart said she returned to the store after realizing she had left her pocketbook in her buggy, after loading her groceries. The victim said she returned the cart to the buggy return on aisle 4. Officers spoke with managers at Walmart and were able to review the surveillance tape. According to the incident report, a white male with a goatee and wearing a gray shirt and blue shorts was seen removing the purse from the buggy and then leaving in a white Ford Explorer.
June 18
  • Public Drunk: A Greer man was arrested after police found him asleep on top of an air conditioning unit at an apartment on Biblebrook Drive. Police arrested Roderick Lordman and charged him with trespassing after notice and for public intoxication. According to the report, Lordman had been fighting with his girlfriend and that she had kicked him out. At least 10 empty Bud Light cans were found at the scene, the report said.
June 20
  • Damage to Home: A woman reported damage to her home on Hammond Avenue. According to the incident report, the front windows and a side window had been smashed while she was away from home.
