Greer Man Charged with Murder

A Greer man has been charged with murdering the owner of an Upstate smoke shop last month

Ryan Darrell Irby, 28, of 105 Victor Court, Apt 2, Greer, has been charged in connection with the August 30 murder of Theodore McClellan.

Deputy Drew Pinciaro, Public Information Officer with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, says Irby has been charged with Murder, Armed Robbery and Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime.

Warrants allege that Irby “unlawfully and with malice aforethought caused the shooting death of Theodore Ross McClellan while committing an Armed Robbery of Illusions Smokeshop.

McClellan, 29, was one of the new owners of Illusions Smoke Shop who had just taken over the business one week prior to the shooting, according to Fox Carolina.
