Greenville Man Charged With Inappropriately Touching A Minor

Daniel McGee has been suspended without pay as a member of the Greenville County Planning Department.

A Greenville man remains in custody and suspended from his job with Greenville County government after being charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor, officials said.

Daniel McGee, 49, of 2207 Wade Hampton Blvd., Apt. A113, was charged on Monday with one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor under age 11 and one count of committing a lewd act on a child under 16, according warrants issued by the Greenville County Sheriff's Office.

After a five-month investigation, deputies were able to gather enough information that McGee had inappropriately touched the 4-year-old victim while he was visiting McGee at his home.

Deputies said the child's mother told investigators that she had been monitoring the child's behavior for several months before contacting authorities.

McGee turned himself in to the sheriff's office on Monday and is currently being held without bond in the Greenville County Detention Center.

McGee was suspended without pay from his job as a planner with the county's Planning Department, county spokesman Bob Mihalic said. McGee, whose role focuses on transportation, has worked with the county for about three years, Mihalic said.
