Deputies Investigating Rash of Greer Autobreakings

Five break-ins reported in close proximity to each other.

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office is investigating a rash of Greer autobreakings that appear to be connected, according to Master Deputy Jonathan Smith.

A total of five break-ins occurred sometime between Sept. 5-6 from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., all in close proximity to each other and during the same time frame, Smith said. The areas hit by thieves included William Owens Way, Bayswater Drive, Meadow Trace Court, and Pebblebrook Court.

Various electronics, personal items, a firearm, cash and credit cards were stolen during these incidents. The value of the stolen items was estimated to be more than $2,000, according to incident reports.

Investigators ask anyone who may have information regarding these incidents to call Crime Stoppers at 23-CRIME.
