Child Shot, Killed At Apartment Complex On Haywood Road

The Greenville Police Department is investigating the death of a child in the Haywood Road area. 

Johnathan Bragg, public information officer for the Greenville PD, confirmed late Friday night that officers were called to the Plantations apartment complex off of Haywood Road, not far from Interstate 385 on Friday night. 

When officers arrived, they found a child who had been shot. The child was later pronounced dead. The Greenville PD provided no further information, as the investigation is still ongoing. 

There is no word as to whether or not the death was accidental or if foul play was suspected.
