UPDATE: Elderly Couple's Deaths Investigated As Homicides

The Greenville County Coroner's Office is investigating.

Update: 3:57 p.m.

The Greenville County Coroner's Office is investigating the deaths of an elderly couple as homicides, deputy coroner Mike Ellis told Patch on Wednesday afternoon. Greenville County Sheriff's Office investigators and the coroner's office were on scene Wednesday night and are expected to be there possibly into Thursday morning, Jonathan Smith of the GCSO said.

A neighbor had come to visit the elderly couple at their home at 10 Terramont Drive, just off Hudson Road. The neighbor could not get the couple to answer the door and looked through the window and saw the male unresponsive on the floor and called 911, according to Jennings Autrey, a spokesman for the Greenville County Sheriff's Office.

The Greenville County Coroner's Office has been called to a residence at 10 Terramont Drive, after a report of two bodies being found.

Chief Deputy Coroner Mike Ellis said he is on scene of the incident and is awaiting the arrival of forensics and other personnel.

The bodies of a man and woman were found inside the home, he said. The call came in about 10:50 a.m.

Ellis could not give any details as to what had occurred at the residence at this time.
