Arrest Made In Taylors Apartment Fire

Greenville County deputies have charged one man with one count of third-degree arson in connection with the apartment fire at Lake Crest Apartments on Aug. 26

Greenville County Sheriff's deputies said a 23-year-old man is responsible for an Upstate apartment fire that displaced 20 families.

Deputies have arrested and charged Tyler Matthew Lankford with one count of third-degree arson in connection with an apartment fire at Lake Crest Apartments on Aug. 26.

Lankford was arrested and booked into the detention center on Tuesday and is being held on a $25,000 bond.

On Aug. 26, investigators were called to the scene of Lake Crest Apartments at the request of Wade Hampton Fire Department to assist in the investigation of the fire.

Through scene examination and witness interviews, investigators determined that Lankford was responsible for the fire.
