Traffic Backed Up in Taylors After Afternoon Accident

South Carolina Highway Patrol on scene of two-car accident that resulted in a fuel spill.

One person was sent to the hospital Monday after an accident on Wade Hampton Boulevard, according to emergency personnel on the scene.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol was on scene at the intersection of West Main Street and Wade Hampton Boulevard in Taylors, where a two-car accident occurred after 1 p.m.

The accident resulted in a diesel truck carrying food goods northbound on Wade Hampton Boulevard flipping on its side. The truck spilled fuel on Wade Hampton Boulevard, resulting in the road being shut down until after 3 p.m. near the intersection of West Main Street.

Taylors Fire Department personnel at the scene reported that one person was sent to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
