An 18-year-old man died Sunday near Greer after his vehicle went off the road.

Trooper Billy Elder with the South Highway Patrol said the accident happened Sunday morning on Bomar Road, eight miles north of Greer.

Elder said the 2001 Acura two-door was traveling north on Bomar Road when the vehicle went off the left side of the road, striking a fence and a tree.

The man was taken to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, Elder said.

The Greenville News reports that the Greenville County Coroner’s Office has identifited the man as Preston Cliett. Cliett’s address was not readily available.
