Obituary: Joshua Scott McIntyre

McIntyre, 19, was an Eastside High School graduate who was killed on Hudson Road on New Year's Eve.

Joshua McIntyre, 19, was hit by at least two cars on Hudson Road on New Year's Eve on Taylor's east side. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is still investigating.

A portion of his obituary, as published on Legacy.com, is as follows:

"Joshua Scott McIntyre, 19, was hit by a car and died while longboarding on December 31, 2012. Josh was born February 5, 1993 in Pensacola, Florida. He moved to Taylors, South Carolina in 1998 and graduated from Eastside High School, where he played lacrosse, in 2011. Josh had a huge heart and loved to live life on the edge. He loved doing parkour and being with his friends. In recent years, he began working in childcare for the single mom's ministry and found he had a heart for the children he met there. God blessed us with Josh and his absence will be felt by many.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at Brushy Creek Baptist Church in Taylors on Saturday, January 5 at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Single Mom's Ministry at Brushy Creek Baptist Church,4999 Old Spartanburg Road, Taylors, SC, 29687."
