Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at The Wood Mortuary in Greer, SC conducted by Dr. Jimmie Harley, with the burial to follow at Taylors First Baptist Church Cemetery

Gloria Nancy Ballenger Hart, age 87, left this, her temporary home, on October 2, 2013, to go be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Mrs. Hart, the daughter of the late Claude Leber Ballenger and Ethel Caroline Johnson Ballenger, was born on October 2, 1926 in Taylors, SC. Also predeceasing Mrs. Hart was her sister, Ann Barbare.

Mrs. Hart was the loving and devoted wife of more than 60 years to her husband, Houston Franklin Hart, residing at National Health Care in Greer, SC.

In addition to her husband, surviving Mrs. Hart are her daughter, Candace Caroline Hart Smith, her son-in-law, William W. Smith, Jr., and her two cherished granddaughters, Alexandra Dorothy Smith and Allison Caroline Smith, all of Taylors, SC.

Mrs. Hart was a life-long member of Taylors First Baptist Church and was retired from Liberty Life Insurance Company after 40 years of dedicated service. Mrs. Hart was an exceptionally talented musician, and she enjoyed singing and playing the piano.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 4, 2013 from 12:45 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at The Wood Mortuary in Greer, SC.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at The Wood Mortuary in Greer, SC conducted by Dr. Jimmie Harley, with the burial to follow at Taylors First Baptist Church Cemetery.

Honorary Escort will be The Career 29 Sunday School Class of Taylors First Baptist Church.

The family will be at The Smith Residence at 9 Rosemont Drive in Taylors, SC.

The family would like to thank the staff of National Health Care and Caris Healthcare Hospice for the wonderful care given to Mrs. Hart.
