Edward "Buster" Sloan, 78, of Taylors, SC, died Wednesday, September 25, 2013. Born in Salem, SC, he was the son of the late John Thomas Sloan and Janie Elizabeth Moss.
He was a member of Taylors Masonic Lodge. He attended Lee Road Baptist Church.
He is survived by wife Betty Owens Sloan; two daughters, Nelda Frady (Kenneth), Melinda Sloan Morris(Eric), one son Tommy Sloan (Sylvia); Eight grandchildren, Crystal Frady McCarter (Tim), Alex Frady, Chuck Frady, Melissa Sloan, Kayla Brown, Amanda Sloan, Ethan Sloan Morris and Laney Grace Morris; and three great-grandchildren, Sharice McCarter, Tim McCarter Jr. and Haley McCarter; sisters Louise Baughman, Sue Fletcher(Vincent), Shelby Mitchell (Joe) and Martha Williams (Kenneth). He was predeceased by one son; Lonnie Holden Sloan and brother-in-law; Bill Baughman.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 3:15 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home with Masonic rights to follow at gravesite at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Shriner's Childrens Hospital 950 W Faris Rd, Greenville, SC 29605.
