David A. Giles, Sr., 73, died September 12, 2013 at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home in Anderson, SC.

A native of Greenwood, he was the son of the late John Jesse Giles, Sr., and Rena Louise Friday Giles. He was a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service, a U.S. Army National Guard Veteran, a lifetime member of the DAV and a member of Taylors First Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, and Granddaddy.

Surviving are his wife of fifty years, Margaret Waldrop Giles of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, D'Anne and Jeff Hannah and Dava and Donnie Betenbaugh of Taylors; one son and daughter-in-law, David A. and Vicky (Bunny) Giles, Jr. of Columbia; one brother, John J. Giles, Jr. of Ware Shoals; one sister Marcia McKee of Coronaca; eight grandchildren, Ashleigh, McCauley, Alyson, Sam & Ben Hannah, Brock, Bryn & Brooks-David Betenbaugh.

Cryptside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at Woodlawn Serenity Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held after the service at the cryptside.

The family is at the home of the daughter and son-in-law, D'Anne & Jeff Hannah.
