Ten Miss SC, Miss SC Teen Contestants Have Ties to Area

Ten young women with ties to the Greer and Taylors area will compete in the 2013 Miss South Carolina and Miss South Carolina Teen pageants.

Competing for the title of Miss South Carolina are:

  • Amanda Bishop — Miss Wade Hampton-Taylors
Bishop is a senior at the University of South Carolina and is a resident of Greer. She works at The Sno Hut on Wade Hampton Boulevard in Taylors. 
  • Whittany Evans — Miss Blue Ridge Foothills
Evans attends the University of South Carolina Upstate and is a resident of Greer.
  • Erin Frost — Miss Laurens County
Frost is a senior at Wofford College, where she plays on the women's basketball team. She is a resident of Greer.
  • Lanie Hudson — Miss Greater Greer
Hudson, a resident of Spartanburg, is a graduate of Clemson University.
  • Meredith Lewellen — Miss North Greenville University
Lewellen is a student at North Greenville University and is a resident of Landrum.
  • Barrett Tyler — Miss Anderson County
Tyler is a resident of Taylors and is a sophomore at North Greenville University.

  • Caroline Cavendish  — Miss Blue Ridge Foothills Teen
Cavendish is a resident of Spartanburg and attends Dorman High School.
  • Cameron Gaubert — Miss Wade Hampton-Taylors Teen
Gaubert is a resident of Spartanburg and attends Spartanburg High School.
  • Taylor Ross — Miss Greater Greer Teen
Ross is a resident of Greer and attends Greer High School. 
  • Bailey Tyler — Miss Spartanburg Teen
Tyler is from Taylors and attends Blue Ridge High School.

There are 49 Miss contestants and 53 Teen contestants who will battle for the crown.

After a week of events, appearances and preliminary rounds, the top 15 finalists for both the Miss and Teen pageants will be named Saturday.

The finalists will compete the pageant to be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Township Auditorium in Columbia.
