Taylors Town Square Unveils New Schedule

Some night meetings now scheduled 2013.

Taylors Town Square, the civic organization devoted to providing Taylors residents and business owners a place to converse about their community in order to forge a more concrete identity, will be holding some night meetings in 2013.

Alex Reynolds, an organizer for the group, released the information Wednesday at the TTS monthly meeting.

Some 50 people were on hand at the meeting Wednesday, where they heard from Taylors Patch about the services the site provides, and from the Eastside YMCA and Greenville County Planning Commission.

"I think it's going really well so far," Reynolds said of the nascent Taylors Town Square, which has only had a handful of meetings.

"I think the guided discussions were good, but what's really cool is when we just let people go in front of the audience and share their stories," Reynolds added. "It's been more straightforward."

Reynolds said TTS aims to "provide a context for relationships" among various groups and people within the Taylors community, and that while there is no agenda or specific goal of the group (such as community planning or incorporation), the idea is for TTS to be the vehicle through which parties can collaborate together to affect desired change for themselves.

The new meeting schedule is as follows:

  • March 5, 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
  • April 3, 12 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.
