Snow, Flooding Possible In Upstate

Greenville and Pickens Counties could see plenty of rain and even some snow Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

The NSW is calling for rain and fog for Easley, Taylors, Mauldin and Simpsonville, with winds ranging from 11 to 17 miles per hour. Areas in Pickens and Greenville Counties could see as much as 3 inches of precipitation. 

On Thursday night, more rain, possibly mixing with snow is forecast, as the low temperature is expected to dip to 30 degrees or below, with wind gusts up to 29 miles per hour. 

Little or no snow accumulation is called for, though FoxCarolina.com reports a Winter Weather Advisory for northern portions of the Upstate, with light snow accumulation and black ice possible. 

All of Greenville and Pickens Counties are under a flood watch, which means there is a potential for flooding based on the current forecasts. The rainfall could be heavy enough on saturated soil to trigger isolated mudslides or landslides near higher terrain.
