Running Program Beginning Next Week at Eastside YMCA

A 10-week program being offered at no cost to Eastside YMCA members is geared toward helping novice runners prepare for a 5K race.

is hoping those with an aversion to running will give the exercise a chance through its Walk2Run program.

The program, which begins next week, takes novice runners and gradually increases the intensity of their running work outs, moving up from walking and finally culminating in a 5K race.

The course is being offered on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. or Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. The program is free for members and $50 for non-members.
