Greer Doctor's Office Closed Down

Daniel Jebens' practice was shut down Thursday after law enforcement officers arrived.

There's been no explanation provided as to why a Greer doctor's practice was shut down Thursday after law enforcement officials arrived there, WYFF reports

Officers arrived at the practice of Dr. Daniel Jebens, Internal Medical Associates on Wade Hampton Boulevard in Greer at roughly noon Thursday.

Questions were directed to the U.S. Attorney's Office, which it turn has not confirmed or denied an investigation into the practice.

Prior to becoming Dr. Jeben's patient, I went to several Doctor's for diabetes and he is the first that prescribed the correct medication to get my diabetes under control. He has never been anything but wonderful and caring as a physician and never prescribed me anything narcotic or any sedatives so I am unaware of anything that would harm any of his patients. He has always appeared to care about his patients physical and emotional state. If he did in fact prescribe patients anything that could hurt them, I am sure they didn't take the meds properly. Too much of anything can hurt a person so we all have to use precautions because there is a risk in any meds taken even over the counter so we have to use our heads and take them as they are directed. He or any other Doctor can't control what you do after leaving his office so it's sad that he's being blamed for misuse if that's the case. I pray for he and his family because this happend to him right @ Christmas and that is a tragedy for he and his family. He has about 7 children and medicine is his lively hood so he's w/out a means to support his family and that in itself is very sad. I hope everything turns out alright for him and that these rumors are garbage. Concerned Patient

(cont')The State doesn't ever tell a soul what these people have done. Because they're not obligated to. But if they were a lawyer. They would be held to the highest standards but because they're doctors and NPR's they get a pass. Tell me how fair that is? Be careful who you take your loved one too. Demand to know if the doctor or NPR your loved one is seeing has ever been sued. And why? Do your home-work before you end up doing a funeral.

And don't you think the DEA, DHEC, the LLR or your local media is going to inform you of the actual facts. Nor will your State or local agencies. Many, many people have to die before anything is done. They don't want a public out-cry. It is very hard for many to believe a doctor is capable of such death and destruction. It is true. Many refuse to believe it. I was shocked at the numerous times doctors can be sued and will go into practice with their son, because they can't afford insurance. Or hide behind the doctor who's practice they nearly destroyed because he is an incompetent doctor and doesn't want to loose his income. They all cover for each other. They make bad cops look like boy scouts in mini- skirts. They know if they kill you, they can blame it on something else. Talk about incompetent! It's sad. I refuse to see any doctor in the local area because of the number of deaths coming out of that side of town. Especially from those offices. Again, you have been warned.

I like to call them drug dealers with license. Employed by the people and State to do no harm yet they do and get away with MURDER!
Debby Fernandes December 28, 2012 at 06:27 pm
Dr Jebens has been our family doctor for nearly 10 years, he has been nothing but kind and professional. It isn't the fault of the prescribing physician if the patients abuse or sell the drugs.I look forward to seeing him back in practice. I am an RN, my husband is a retired physician, we have the ability to tell a good medical person from a bad one.
Shirley Martin December 29, 2012 at 06:07 am
What I think is irresponsible is when people know of others who have been harmed by doctors and you remove those names. People would be crazy to state such a claim without proof. records can be obtained. The public needs to be warned who these doctors and NPR's are. That is simply irresponsible Journalism. The PUBLIC needs to know. Until it happens to you personally you will continue to hide the names of the guilty. You have repeatedly stripped the names of other offenders from my post.

Shirley.... any comments you leave that state others are committing crimes when no charges have in fact been filed against those physicians will be deleted. It's tantamount to libel if I allow that to go unchecked. Tread lightly.

As a current patient of Dr. Jebens, I want to know why MY privacy was violated by the Attorney Generals office when they seized my medical record from his office. I gave no permission for anyone to view my chart....

i would like to know what i am supposed to do about my medications that i rely on daily and now the pharmacies tell me they are void. some yes are controlled substance but the majority of them are my depression medication as well as my medications that are treating my illness which is life threatning. i am just now learning of this incident and am completly taken back. such a good, humble man who really cares about his patients needs and doesn't treat u as tho your wasting his time and he has better things to do. answers would be great and i think its time someone starts giving them
upset patient January 3, 2013 at 04:39 am
I know what u mean its time his patients gets some answers on what they need to do about getting there medications its crazy that people like myself with conditions that are permanent and only gonna get worse suppose to do just sit around and be miserable with so much pain until they die or flip out on someone because of them not getting there psychiatry meds? It don't make a bit of sense to me @ all but someone ought to have the decency to send them to someone that will help them!!!

Iam so glad this office has been closed! He is responsible for alot of class 2 prescriptions to local drug attics in the upstate!
B January 4, 2013 at 01:23 am
And it is his fault when attics can pay some cash and pretend to gave a office visit and he gives out 4or 5 class 2 drugs on a prescription that no one even in the worst pain should be on all those meds ever
jebens' friend January 4, 2013 at 03:34 am
B. Maybe you should learn to spell and speak English properly before you comment on a public forum again... You just come across as a dumb redneck....
Concerned Patient January 4, 2013 at 06:40 pm
A lot, not alot; ATTIC : a room or space that is just below the roof of a building and that is often used to store things; I believe the correct word to use in the above statement is ADDICT : a person who has become physiologically or psychologically dependent on an addictive substance, as alcohol or a narcotic.

If you look at how some of these people spell, you might be able to pick out the ones who are getting those medications that are being sold out on the streets. "Just saying".
Hopefull Praying in WRONG INJUSTICEn January 23, 2013 at 12:29 am
Dr. D. Jebens is 1 one the best Drs around!! ANYWHERE!! He understands & listens to what's wrong w his patients. I have the worst panic attacks & my nerves r really bad. I have issues that stem back from a child & Dr. Jebens is the only Dr who has ever acted like he gave a damn about me or my needs!! My pain is continuous from fibromyalgia & back pain due to 11 car accidents. Every So called Dr gives pain meds & other medications!!! Why r they picking on Dr. J?!? BECAUSE HE IS A PRIVATE PRACTICE & IF OUR LEGAL SYSTEM CAN CONTROL EVERY1 & EVERYTHING BY PUTTING US ON METHODONE OR IN A PAIM CLINIC TO WHERE THEY R GETTING A PERCENTAGE THEN THEY WILL!! DR. J IS INNOCENT OF THESE CHARGES PPL!! GUILY ODF BEING A CARING, UNDERSTANDING, HELPFULL DR...YES!! BUT A MURDERER OR A DRUG DEALER W A LISCENSE...NO!!! U PPL THAT SAY THESE THINGS ARE ONLY JEALOUS PATIENTS THAT HE'S HAD TO TURN AWAY OR OTHER DRS OR NURSES THAT HE HAS TURNED AWAY BECAUSE HE WOULDN'T WRITE U A BOGUS SCRIPT OF WTF EVER U WANTED!! SO GET A DAMN GRIP & LEAVE THIS DR ALONE!! HE HAS A WIFE & 8 CHILDREN TO SUPPORT!! GO GET UR OWN LIFE OR SOME1 ELSE!! U'LL BURN IN HELL FOR THOSE WHO HAVE DONE THIS TO THIS WONDERFUL DR & HIS FAMILY!!

I am in hopes this happening is a grave mistake. Somehow. Fortunately, I have had no need for any kind of medication other than flu shots, however, my husband has been a patient of Dr.Jebens for many years and find him to be very professional and kind. He does listen and care. My husband had been under no pain killers, but meds for diabetes and heart problems. I feel like any who have made such terrible statements should be able to prove them. If he has done something wrong - perhaps we should look at our ownselves and see if we are squeaky clean. It is very unfair to judge one another (if we have no proof especially).
Judy Lea January 28, 2013 at 01:39 am
Dr Jebens has been my doctor for over 10 yrs. He has always taken the time to listen and help evaluate any illiness I have encountered. He has never been quick to prescribe any medication to me until he did the necessary examination or evaluation. Even tho I do not know what he is being charged or investigated of...if he is allowed to reopen his practice...I will be one of the first patients to be back in his office!! Judy Lea

Such a gentle, caring, sweet man. He has been my doctor and friend for 12 yrs. Am heartbroken and outraged something like this (whatever it truly is) could have happened! As other's have said, he took time to listen, and what other doctor would have given me heartfelt hugs when my parent's recently died? God bless you Dr. Jebens. You will be sorely missed by non drug addicts like me.

Multiple deaths? Most of prescription drugs on street in Upstate? Liz Jackson...how do you know this? Details please.
Judy Lea January 30, 2013 at 08:28 am
Did it ever dawn on anyone that he might have issues other than the accused "dealing drugs" Tax issues will shut an office down.
Benita Cassell February 2, 2013 at 03:18 pm
I've been a patient of Dr. Jebens for around 10 years and I can't believe he is guilty of anything wrong. I hope he is able to clear his name soon.
Linda Pinkel February 4, 2013 at 01:00 am
Dr Jebens was my fathers doctor and was incorrectly giving him medication that was not needed. He may be a nice man but he didn't get to the bottom of my dad's problems. He would just wrote out prescription after prescription which my elderly father SOLD. Too late did we find out he had severe depression (my mom had passed several years before) and had horrible so called friends that brought him to this doctor who continued to give him pills even after we called and told him what was going on!! This closing is coming 6 years too late to help my dad but pray some good comes out this.
