Taylors Lions Club Helping With Hurricane Relief Effort

The Taylors Lions Club, along with other Upstate chapters, are helping other Lions members in the northeast.

The Taylors Lions Club is joining forces with the Lions Clubs of Berea, Piedmont Pleasantburg, Slater-Marietta and Spartanburg to assist the chapters adversely effected by Hurricane Sandy, The Greenville News reports.

The clubs have sent tractor-trailer loads of coats, blankets, flashlights, batteries, toilet paper, paper towels, generators, cans of gas and 4,500 gallons of water to Lions members in battered regions of New York and New Jersey.

“The real need is there. These folks are up there with freezing weather and nothing. I can’t even imagine what they’re going through," Taylors Lions Club President Jim Starnes said. "Can’t even begin to. They have no power. They have no food. They have no water and they have to wait in line to get some of the stuff they’re getting.”
