Cycle-A-Thon Being Held At Eastside YMCA

If you're in the mood for some exercise and also want to help others, check out a fundraising event at the Eastside YMCA on March 22. 

The 4th Annual Cycle-A-Thon will be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. People are asked to seek donations to coincide with their rides on a stationary bike at the Eastside Y, with proceeds going to the Y's Open Doors Campaign. 

Participants can choose an hour that day to ride or create their own team to tackle the challenge. 

The Open Doors campaign is a financial assistance program in which community and member-funded scholarships are given to those who could not otherwise afford what the YMCA has to offer - from gym memberships to swim lessons. 

The YMCA offers a variety of classes, exercise, sports and recreation opportunities, as well as after school programs and summer day camps. The Open Doors program seeks out community partners and individual donors to fund scholarships for Y memberships to cover program fees for people who otherwise couldn't afford them.
