Video: Students Take In Law Enforcement Day

The event in Taylors drew home schooled children from across the Upstate, including Easley, Simpsonville and Taylors.

More than 400 students from across the Upstate gathered at Taylors First Baptist Church on Monday morning to get a glimpse of what it's like to be a law enforcement officer.

Deputy Jonathan Jackson of the Greenville County Sheriff's Office and Suzanne Brown, executive director of the Upstate Home School Co-Op, organized the Law Enforcement Day to give the children, ranging from elementary school age to teenagers, a chance to meet officers face to face, and to get an idea of what they do for a living.

The GCSO's mobile command center vehicle was brought to the event, as well as a police K9 and other various law enforcement vehicles and personnel.
