Travelers Rest Case Called Murder-Suicide

Dale Patrick Wetzelberger shot his wife before dropping off his 4-year-old son at a daycare and returning home to commit suicide.

A 47-year-old Travelers Rest man killed his wife Monday before shooting himself the next day, The Greenville News reports.

Authorities say Dale Patrick Wetzelberger, 47, shot his wife, Michele, three times at their Northcliff Way home on Monday night and then took their 4-year-old son to the childcare center at the Travelers Rest branch of the YMCA the next day. Michele was scheduled to teach an exercise class at that day at the Y. Her no-show, plus the father's not picking the child up from day care, prompted a call to police.

The bodies of both Dale and Michele Wetzelberger were discovered Tuesday afternoon.
