The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating an auto wreck that left one dead Sunday morning on Interstate 26, WTLX reports. 

According to Newberry County Deputy Coroner Melody Reid, 35-year old Sandro Desantiago-Ramirez of Taylors, SC, died on scene in Newberry County. 

Lance Corporal Jones says the wreck occurred around 6:45 a.m. Sunday near mile marker 76. 

The SCHP indicated that Desantiago-Ramirez lost control of his 1995 Ford Explorer, causing the car to overturn and land on the median of the highway.

More injuries were reported.
