Readers' Choice: Name Your Favorite Mechanic
We have relaunched our Readers' Choice contest with dozens of new categories, including clothing.
Car repairs can always be dreadful, but maybe not if you know the right mechanic.
Many of us waiting until the muffler falls off, the engine’s billowing smoke or your tires come to a squealing halt before it becomes clear that a mechanic is needed.
But who do you call?
With mom-and-pop shops, word of mouth can go a long way. That’s why we are asking you our Patch friends and family do you have a favorite auto mechanic in your town?
Local shops are a great find. While they may not tout the speed of their competition, their work is skillfully done and at times, cheaper than the competition..
Nominate your favorite shop to be part of our “Best Mechanic,” as Patch unveils its Readers' Choice.
Just log in and post your vote in the comments section below. You may nominate multiple places, but please post each nomination in a separate comment so we can make sure they are all counted. Your nominee must be in Easley, Mauldin or Taylors to be eligible.
Nominations are due by July 9.
Voting for Readers’ Choice 2012 will begin in late July and winners will be announced in August.

I think the best place in town is Steve Killian's Advanced Tire and Auto, right there on Main Street.. They do good work, fast and at great prices. Steve sees to it that the customer is treated right the first time, so we will keep coming back.

Root's has always treated us right. We've had our Mazda family there (Mazda CX-9, Miata, Mazda 6 and Mazda 3), and our son's Jeep. I need to get my old wagon down there and get some new tires!

Danny's Fix and Fill in Simpsonville has been our go to place for all of our service on my car and pick up. They have always treated us fairly and always have great service and prices. I have been to only 2 others before them and will always be a faithful customer. I perferr a family owned /operated business because the service is so much better and you don't get pushed in or out the door. Very knowledable and we trust them 100%.Danny is one of the nicest people out there and his crew are top notch ,I would highly recommend them to anyone .The one time i broke down 15 minutes before they closed on a friday and they fixed us up right quick and we were moving on in about 30 minutes for a starter ! Will never forget them for that. I could have been stranded for the weekend with no wheels, but they worked extra hard and past 5 to get me going. Now that we are regulars we just call and set up an appointment for service and we are in and out and cheaper than the chain places!
