Property Crimes Being Reported Along Swamp Rabbit Trail

Thieves are striking Greenville's popular biking and walking trail.

If you're thinking about taking to Greenville County's Swamp Rabbit Trail for some recreation, it may be wise to be careful about where you park and what you take with you.
There are some larcenies and autobreaking incidents being reported along the trail, which is a popular destination for walker and bicyclists, according to FoxCarolina.com
One such incident occurred last week, when Jim Winget and his wife parked their car near Furman University to get on the trail. When they returned, the window to their vehicle had been smashed in and their belongings stolen.
The Greenville County Sheriff's Office said that crime on the trail itself is rare, and that the area is generally safe.
